New Furniture

Dan and I have been trying to fix up the house little by little. Recently, it has been our living room's turn. We finally purchased a large rug to cover the floor, mostly so our little Sofsie can have a place to practice crawling. I went with a risky online, sight-unseen purchase which proved to be a happy accident. The word "orange" was never used to describe any color in the rug, but as you can see orange is there. It looks good though and so now orange is one of our accent colors. As I said, happy accident. Above are some pictures of it, but really it was a Sofia modeling session and the rug just happens to be in the shot!

We also, just today, purchased a new coffee table. I took a quick snap of it only to realize that it would look much cuter with a little baby on top. Don't worry, Dan was very nearby in case she decided to crawl right off the thing. I'm not completely negligent!

Well, enjoy the pictures of the new furniture, I mean Sofia! Love, Angie

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Wednesday was Grandpa's birthday so we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's for a birthday dinner and some cheesecake. Dan's aunt, Sister Dolores was in town visiting from New York so Sofia finally got to meet her great aunt. She had a lot of fun - she's such a happy baby and she really loved Sister Dolores. She also loves playing with Grandma's toys as you can see.

Update

I have no relevant pictures to share so I thought I'd post this one of Sofia putting her foot in her mouth.

Hello all. Sofia and I arrived safely from Miami last Thursday. As most of you know we were there for my grandmother's funeral. Everything was beautiful and as my brother, David, pointed out it was comforting to know she's back in Miami where she's supposed to be, buried next to Teto.

All else is well here. She got her first cold while in Miami and I was quite worried but things cleared up very quickly. Luckily I was able to take her to my cousin's pediatrician who on top of it all was able to diagnose Sofia's rash as contact dermatitis from her car seat rather than eczema as we previously thought. The good news is that her rash is almost completely gone! We're so thankful because it was looking pretty nasty.

Besides that, we're just hoping that Gustav will die down and not spread this way at all. It looks as if we'll be okay here in Houston. We're just spending Labor Day relaxing, catching up on sleep and getting ready to watch day one of the RNC. By the way, for those of you not registered to vote I added a link so you have no excuse! That's all for now. Much love to all!
